Greetings Plant Lovers,
Hope you are enjoying this winter wonderland! Spring will be here before we know it😊
Tuesday February 26thth, 7 – 9 pm will be our next meeting. We will be meeting here at Dogwood & Brambles, our family farm. We have a great night planned! As always guests are welcome for a fee of $25.00 (depending on space and pre-registering). Please note: herb course is the last Tuesday of every month.
We will open classes with a ceremonial blessing of our teachers and students. The ritual of smudging can be defined as “spiritual house cleaning.” Thanks to our friend from the Chippewa’s of Georgina, Laurie Hoeg, who will perform the ceremony. We will also have our “Tea of the Month” taught by one of our students and they will provide a sample cup of the tea, so fun to try new teas.
This month’s class (February 26 2019)
Rare Resins and Oud – Guest presenter Nicolas Faunus
Oud – The Magickal Perfume that Rules them All!
From rotting wood to creating a mood sublime, Oud is the “secret sauce” that powers the world’s greatest perfumes.
Learn about Oud – it’s power and complexity, it’s depth and it’s wonder. Smell for yourself the many varieties of Oud, learn how it’s made and discover for yourself why as little as one gram of this resin can command many thousands of dollars. Oud is a unique aroma, the most complex of all the plant-based aromatics. We will work “hands on” with Oud from Sumatra, India, Nepal, Thailand and Cambodia and more.
This presentation will also cover magickal resins, with samples of all grades of Frankincense (8 types) premium grades of Labdanum, Storax, Copal and Elemi will also be shown. Experience for yourself the world’s best Organic Rose and Jasmine attars. Revel in the depth and complexity of aged Mysore Sandalwood – long forbidden and unattainable in the marketplace.
For those of you who use magickal anointing oils, we will have available for your perusal a selection of fine, hand blown glass, pewter, gold and silver wire oil bottles. Made by skilled craftsmen in the Czech Republic, in a family glass works that has been producing these same bottles and bottle pendants since the mid-19th century. You can finally find that genuinely special and magickal container to store your own valuable and unique oils!
Be aware that if you fully participate in this presentation, you will leave it in a state of enhanced mental acuity. Participation is at your own risk😊 (joke by Nick).
