Greetings Plant Lovers,
Happy New Year, hoping you all enjoyed your holidays and wish you a wonderful new year!
Tuesday January 29thth, 7 – 9 pm will be our next meeting. We will be meeting here at Dogwood & Brambles, our family farm. We have a great night planned! As always guests are welcome for a fee of $25.00 (depending on space and pre-registering). Please note: herb course is the last Tuesday of every month.
We will open classes with a ceremonial blessing of our teachers and students. The ritual of smudging can be defined as “spiritual house cleaning.” Thanks to our friend from the Chippewa’s of Georgina, Laurie Hoeg, who will perform the ceremony. We will also have our “Tea of the Month” taught by one of our students and they will provide a sample cup of the tea, so fun to try new teas. Once again we would like to thank Faunus Herbs for all of their support:)
This month’s class (January 2019)
Winter Essentials ~ Getting Hands on with Cold Remedies
I hate to admit this, but a bout of laryngitis caught me last week, I could barely talk. I am sure all around me enjoyed the quiet, while it lasted 😊 But it was a week of tinctures, sprays and capsules for me! What it quickly made me realize is how we all must have our remedies at hand in case we need them! So during class we will discuss the basic remedies we should have on hand at all times. Then we will introduce some basic traditional remedies for the common cold and everyone gets to take home at least one remedy. We will make:
Elderberry Syrup ~ Throat spray ~ Cold and Flu Tea
Please all students must RSVP, we want to ensure numbers for supplies
Looking forward to seeing you all soon
