Greetings Plant Lovers,
Happy Spring everyone! Hoping you are all enjoying the signs of the season; geese, robins, red winged blackbirds, colts foot, bluebells and daffodils ๐
Tuesday April 26th, 7 โ 9pm will be our next meeting. We will be meeting here at Dogwood & Brambles, our family farm. Please find map attached. We have a great night planned! As always guests are welcome (guest fee $25) Please note: herb course is the last Tuesday of every month.
We will open classes this year with a ceremonial blessing. The ritual of smudging can be defined as “spiritual house cleaning.”. Thanks to our friends from the Chippewa’s of Georgina, Laurie Hoeg and Penny Trumble, who will perform the ceremony.
Overview โ With the beauty of spring upon us, we absolutely have to be outside on a herb walk enjoying the medicinal and edible plants that surround us. Now we can see how the plants look in immaturity and witness how they change along with the seasons. It can be difficult to identify plants at the various stages of their growth. Just liken the plants to people, imagine trying to envision what a baby would look like as an old man. We have to become familiar with herbs in all their stages of growth to properly identify for picking.
This months class:
We will be discussing plants that will grow well locally, that you can introduce into your gardens. As always, we highly recommend taking a trip to Richter’s Herbs.
Please RSVP, we want to ensure numbers for supplies
Looking forward to seeing you all soon
I will be coming tonight, Penny, and hope to take home Lesson 3’s herbs. See you soon, Faye.
