So happy to see the red leaves turning on our old maples and to hear and see the geese preparing for their long journey south.
While enjoying a walk this morning with my dogs, Fred and Gus, I realized its not too late for you to still pick some beautiful greens to have in your freezer for smoothie ingredients. Think of picking: alfalfa, dandelion, mallow, good king Henry, mint, parsley, to name a few. Also smoothies are a great way to use up left over herbal tea. Simply make ice cubes out of left over tea! Add a few cubes to all your smoothies.
Fall is also the time of year to start digging roots. Typically dug up after a first frost, all the plants nutrients are in the roots.
This is all so the time of year to build up your immune system for the up coming winter – think Echinacea, Cordyceps, Astragalus, Pau d’arco, Cats Claw, Ginseng, Garlic and Turmeric.
Be well
