Greetings friends 🙂
I have had a love and a career of working with herbs, for nearly 20 years. Literally “from field to bottle”, in all aspects of herbal manufacturing to educating doctors about our herbal formulas, while working with Faunus Herbs and Restorative Formulations.
Imagine a beautiful summers day, the bees are buzzing, the birds are chirping, there is the smell of flowers floating on a breeze and there’s me just so happy to be outside and picking flowers. What? Getting paid to pick flowers? Who wouldn’t want to have this job? Working with herbs never seemed like “work” for me, it was and is pure joy! After acquiring years of hands on education with herbs I decided to get a formal foundation in herbalism and to become a chartered herbalist. I am now the creator/owner of The Ginkgo Tree Tea Blends, Myrtle Mae’s Apothecary, Dogwood and Brambles Barnyard Blends and facilitator of The Science and Art of Herbalism Course. I am truly a herbalist making, using, and believing in natural medicine!
We live on a lovely little farm called Dogwood and Brambles. My dad, Frank, works along with us keeping up our yard work and gardening. Did I mention he is 77 years old? Only a small portion of the 100 acre farm is actually “farmed”, the back 50 acres we have given back to nature; Trees, shrubs, wildflowers and herbs are all thriving and so is the wildlife. Common sightings of deer, rabbits, coyotes, wild turkeys, hawks, racoons, and rare sightings of bob cats, bears, and even a cougar! For over 27 years this has been an ideal setting for raising my family and fostering my love of herbs. A place where we can reintroduce plants and welcome back Mother Nature to stay.
I am incredibly thankful every day, for my work within the herbal community. Introducing people to the many uses of herbs and seeing them begin to use them daily, for themselves and their loved ones (human or pet), is truly what I am passionate about!
